TRANSFONIX LTD has been designing and building dry-type transformers in Larnaca since 1979. Family-run, six-to-ten people on the bench, every unit tested before it leaves.
Transfonix manufactures dry-type transformers from 2VA to 60KVA: isolating and control transformers for distribution boards, halogen-lighting transformers, pool-lighting transformers, isolation transformers, single- and three-phase autotransformers, audio transformers, transformers for inverters, portable Class II tool transformers, the full power-transformer range, and motor-starting autotransformers.
Everything in the catalogue ships from Larnaca with the Manufacturer's Declaration of Conformity. Custom builds run through the same workshop — send a drawing or a spec, we'll engineer to it. No minimum quantity, no Letter of Credit required for small and medium orders.
Twelve years into the company we started exporting to the Gulf — Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait. The temperature performance the climate demands became the acceptance test we still apply today.

Chapter 01
1979
Founded in Larnaca.
TRANSFONIX LTD is established as a family-owned manufacturer of dry-type transformers in Larnaca, Cyprus. Six to ten people, all with deep electrical experience.
Chapter 02
1980s
Cyprus's standard supplier.
Builds the customer base — Electricity Authority of Cyprus, CYTA, Cyprus Airways, the broadcasters, switchgear contractors. Becomes the local source for control and power transformers.
Chapter 03
1990s
Gulf exports begin.
Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait. High-temperature operation in the desert becomes our de-facto acceptance test — and it still is today.
Chapter 04
2000s
ISO + CE-marked output.
ISO 9001 procedures adopted. CE marking on every unit. Conformance documented to BS EN 61558-1, BS EN 61558-2-2, BS 171, and BS EN 60947-4-1.

Forty-seven years on.
Same workshop on Ipsilantou Street. Same family. Full 2VA-to-60KVA range. Single-piece orders treated the same as production runs.

Within our efforts for high and steady quality we have undertaken the commitment to apply ISO 9001 quality system basic regulations and the requirements of four British and European standards.
To affirm conformance, we apply documented procedures, tests, and inspections during all production processes. All inspection and test records are maintained in a technical file available for inspection on request.
Our transformers are designed to deliver 200% load for half an hour, 150% for one hour, and 125% for four hours without damage. That's our acceptance criterion — and the reason Gulf clients still order from us four decades in.
