Tilt and turn, casement, top hung. Multi-point locking, EPDM gaskets, and frames that stay quiet when the westerly picks up.

The strip in the middle is what you are paying for.
Bare aluminium conducts heat straight through the frame. A thermal-break profile is two separate aluminium shells joined by polyamide bars, so the July heat never touches the inside face. Cheaper frames leave that strip out, and you pay for it every month on the air conditioning.
